Description
Aura Hotel Barú is a small beachfront property on the calm water of Ensenada del Cholón, on Isla Barú — an intimate hotel rather than a club built for volume. Buying the day pass gets you its beach and its pool for the day, with lunch and an arrival cocktail wrapped in.
How you travel is your decision. The Normal pass crosses on a shared sport boat and swings past Fuerte de Bocachica on the way for a look at the fort from the sea. The VIP pass goes overland by shared road transport instead — the same island, the same property, reached without getting on a boat. Both are return journeys.
Once you are there nothing is scheduled. Claim a beach bed or a sun lounger, swim in the freshwater pool, take out a kayak, a paddleboard or a snorkelling mask, play ping pong. Wifi covers the property, there are freshwater showers, and towels are provided. Lunch is one main chosen from seven, with a soft drink. The return leaves at 3:00 PM.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the VIP and Normal passes?
Only the journey. VIP travels by shared land transport; Normal crosses by shared sport boat and takes in Fuerte de Bocachica from the water. Once you are at the hotel the two passes are identical — and Normal costs less.
What do I pay on the day?
Two things sit outside the ticket: the departure tax of $31,500 COP, which is cash only, and a compulsory medical assistance and accident policy at $8,800 COP.
Where and when do we meet?
Muelle de la Bodeguita, Gate #3, at 8:00 AM, for a departure around 8:30 AM. The gate can be moved with prior notice, so check your confirmation on the morning itself.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes. Ensenada del Cholón is sheltered rather than open sea, and there is a child rate for ages 4 to 9.
